bday party

so who knew..but apparently having a kid means going to a million bday parties for kids in her class....and then you are expected to socialize there....like if i was a human and such....and you dont even get to choose who you socialize with, pretty much your kid does the choosing and then you are stuck with people who you have no clue what to talk about because your social glue is having kids around the same age that happen to be in the same class...thats it.....no manches....and today's bday party was longer than usual (they are usually for 2 hrs....this one was 4hrs!)....that means we have to think about such things as food and stuff (being vegan is not convenient....unfortunately)....fortunately they had plenty of vegan snacks (fruit, tostadas, salsa, salad)...and they even had vegan cupcakes for those vegan weirdos (us)......and not only that but they had activities like a magician (that took an hour or whatever off of socializing pressure)...and since it was in a park, it was less confined than a usual party.....sophie twisted her ankle, so that sucked, but she's fine and she had fun....which i guess is the point of the whole thing......

after that we went to eat some ethiopian food.....it was pretty tasty...we hadn't had ethiopian since we lived in mke, so about 3 years! that's ridiculous, so we had to remedied that and we did.....and enjoyed it greatly....if you have never had ethiopian food, it's like 5-6 guisados laid on top of injera, which is like a spongy sourdoughy flat bread....and then you scoop up the food with more injera...you dont use utensils at all.....it's a cool experience and it's good food.....the restaurant had the misfortune of being in front of a food cart park......the same one we went to last week....and i felt like a milkshake so off we went to get that for dessert....yum, it was super coconutty mmmm

after that we made it home for some lattes and a movie....the movie was in spanish and mexican spanish at that...it was a cartoon...it made me a little bit homesick hahahha now sophie is in bed and the night is young, so let's see what awaits us :P
