walk signal

do you guys ever stress when you press the walk signal button and then other people come and wait for the signal without pressing it because they assumed you pressed? i freak out because what if i pressed it wrong? what if i forgot to press it? what if the button doesn't work? i don't want to take responsibility for the walk signal for all these people! when you dont press the button you have to wait a few minutes for another turn or you have to risk your life in a high traffic area.....i dont want to be the person responsible for someone getting run over or missing their bus across the street or getting late to their desired location....

i cross such walk paths at least twice per day, and without fail, those worries take over me...i stress over a simple walk signal button....yup.....and sometimes, even though i know i pressed the button, i press it again when other people arrive hoping to relieve some responsibility that i feel hahha i know im weird....
