i decided that i wanted to open up our 550d camera that chuy killed....and i wanted to do something with it....chuy suggested making a planter...but by the time he suggested it, the idea of making it into a desk lamp had grown on me....so we agreed on desk lamp.....so today we did the first step of the project, which is empty out the insides of the camera.....after a million of screws off, a bunch of disconnected buses, and disconnected power plugs....we were able to remove most of the circuit boards and now the camera is mostly hollow....phase one completed....i took a bunch of pics...but let's be real, i probably wont process them for weeks....much less post them today!
phase 2, buy parts to make the lamp
phase 3, buy broken lens and hollow it out
phase 4, assemble lamp
Yeah, that was fun! If we succeed, I almost want to get scrap cameras and tear them apart for fun, then turn them into something!
